"Charming eco-friendly hotel in a picturesque small village. The rooms are well-appointed - each namef after a bird- with comfy beds and luxurious toiletries. On arrival we had drinks in the cosy bar next to a roaring fire. Our party of 10 had a 3 course dinner in a private room focussing on local meat and game but with good fish and vegetarian options. Highly recommended."
"Beautiful location and we had a lovely stay -would definitely recommend. Staff v friendly and kind. However, a few things that would be good for them to improve on… The milk in the room had soured as there wasn’t a refrigerator. We were also a bit peckish in the afternoon but no snacks available - perhaps some biscuits/nuts. We resorted to ordering pudding. Could easily be fixed the addition of a minibar. There seemed to be a lot of staff..."
"We visited the restaurant for a birthday dinner. I'm coeliac, and my boyfriend has a shellfish allergy - they were incredibly good about catering for us both. The food was great, as was the service. People looking for gluten free/gf food, this was a lovely place to eat for a special occasion. There was also a pub side, which looked welcoming and you could get pizza etc. there as well, if looking for something simpler for dinner or lunch."

"Lunch mid-week. The best fried fish I have tasted in 77 years! Beautifully moist, perfect fish in a wonderfully crisp thin batter that crowned out a thoroughly delicious meal that included an exciting amuse bouche and then a pheasant and ham hock fritter with accompanying chutney and mustard. All this within their generous two course lunch for just £25 per head. Outstanding value, excellent service. Strike while the offer is available. This is unbeatable in the area. Come on Michelin!"
